Recently the Plein Air Painters of the Ozarks (PAPO) were painting at a large farm in the mountains. It was an overcast day. I drove to the top of a pasture and saw this pile of logs. It seemed the logs were just resting there. I basically block in the image on site in a couple of hours and finished up the painting in the studio. PAPO is a great group of people. There were 20 artists there that day.
